Sen. Chapin Honored by the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association

Hartford-On March 24th, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association’s (CVMA) awarded State Senator Clark Chapin (R-New Milford) its prestigious 2015 “Distinguished Service Award.”

“The CVMA presented the award to Senator Chapin to recognize his leadership on issues of animal welfare and veterinary medicine. During his entire time at the State Capitol, Senator Chapin has been a friend to the CVMA. He has not only supported legislation that the CVMA has sponsored, but he has led the way when compromise was necessary,” said Dr. Eva Ceranowicz, Chair of the CVMA Government Relations Committee.

“I am honored to be the recipient of the CVMA Distinguished Service Award,” said Senator Chapin. “In my years as a legislator I have always taken a strong interest in the well-being of animals. As Ranking Member on the Environment Committee, I often consult with the members of the CVMA when crafting legislation.”

Senator Chapin was also awarded the 2013 James S. Holt Memorial Award for Promotion of Responsible Dog Ownership in Legislation from our friends in the American Kennel Club. This award recognized his work to promote legislation that benefits animals and also protects the rights of their owners.
