Roto Frank of America and Connecticut State Senator Art Linares worked together to develop legislation that will help ensure the safety of children throughout the state. Sen. Linares (33rd District), was prompted to introduce SB169: An Act Concerning Public Housing and Child Safe Windows during a tour to Roto Frank of America in Chester, CT. The tour coincided with National Window Safety Week, which was established to heighten public awareness of what can be done to help keep families safe from the risk of accidental falls or injuries in the home. Sen. Linares is the lead Republican senator on the state legislature’s Planning and Development Committee and previously served on the Committee on Children. If passed, SB169 would mandate that child safe windows be installed on any new construction or remodeling of a public housing unit. The proposed bill was referred to the Committee on Housing and was unanimously approved at the February 3 Subject Matter Public Hearing.

“Roto Frank of America offers window hardware which complies with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) F-2090 Standards, and which helps prevent such tragedies from occurring,” said Chris Dimou, President and CEO of Roto Frank of America. “Windows play a vital role in home safety, serving as a secondary escape route in the event of a fire or other emergency, but they can also pose a risk for a fall if safety measures are not followed.” About Roto Frank of America, Inc.
