Hartford, CT – State Senator Paul Formica and State Representative Tim Ackert, Ranking members of the General Assembly’s Energy and Technology Committee joined industry leaders and the co-chairs of the Committee at a recent meet and greet event in Cromwell.

“There are many different kinds of energy producers in our state and I look forward to learning more about the industry in my new role on the committee,” said Sen. Formica. “Everyone deserves reliable and affordable energy and that seems to be the goal of all stakeholders in the room.”

Each year, the Connecticut Power and Energy Society sponsors a preview of the 2015 legislative session jointly with the Energy, Public Utility and Communications Section of the Connecticut Bar Association.

“Serving on this panel gave me the unique opportunity to meet with our state’s key stakeholders in the energy and technology field,” Rep. Ackert said. “Especially considering my new role as Ranking Member of the Energy and Technology Committee, I was grateful to learn about different kinds of energy from cell technology production to anaerobic digesters. Our discussion on how we can better serve both constituents and businesses through these advances and economic development was invaluable.”

The leadership of the General Assembly’s Energy and Technology Committee oversee the state’s energy law and policy. The two co-chairs are Senator Paul Doyle of Wethersfield and Representative Loni Reed of Branford.
