Sen-elect Martin: “Bristol workforce development plan is changing people’s lives for the better.”

Editorial as it appeared in the Bristol Press

To the Editor:

I had the pleasure of attending the Dec. 19 graduation ceremony for the members of the joint Workforce program of Bristol Adult Education and Rowley Spring and Stamping Corp.

The graduates’ stories of perseverance and hard work were truly inspiring. It makes me proud to see Democrats, Republicans, local business leaders and educators like Bristol Adult Education supervisor Larry Covino all working together to make this pilot program a success.

When I get to the State Capitol, I intend to spread the word to other state legislators about the wonderful opportunities this program is creating for our local residents. This Bristol model is changing people’s lives for the better, and it should be replicated throughout Connecticut.
