East Lyme/New London Water Project receives Engineering Grand Award

Hartford, CT – Senator Paul M. Formica (R-East Lyme) attended the recent American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Award Ceremony in Middletown. Sen. Formica accepted on behalf of the town of East Lyme the Grand prize in design excellence and innovation for the East Lyme / New London regional water connection.

American Council of Engineering Companies of Connecticut (ACEC/CT) is the leading organization for the business and professional interests of consulting engineering firms in Connecticut. Tighe & Bond engineering firm from Middletown and Shelton was the group chosen by the town to engineer the regional water project.

Sen. Formica, ranking member of the General Assembly’s Energy and Technology Committee congratulated David E. Pinsky of Tighe & Bond for his group’s hard work on the connection and the Grand Award.

Also in attendance at the engineering event Paul W. Brady, Executive Director of ACEC/CT and State Department of Transportation Commissioner James Redeker. ACEC/CT is a member organization of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), representing over 55,000 engineering firms throughout the country.
