Canton – Senator Kevin Witkos (R-Canton) and Representative Tim LeGeyt (R-Avon, Canton) applaud the state’s Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant for Canton and presented a check to the Canton Board of Selectman on Wednesday evening. The town of Canton was awarded $500,000 for various capital improvements to Mills Pond Park. The majority of the funding will go toward upgrading the existing pool house including upgrades to the bathrooms and locker rooms. The pool house serves as the town’s emergency showering facilities during storms, natural disasters and other emergency situations. Funding will also go towards resurfacing 4 tennis courts and 2 basketball courts and the design and construction of the Canton Skate Park, which will be located in the Mills Pond Complex.
