Sen. Linares Helps Clinton Social Services Distribute Food

June 3, 2014

Sen. Art Linares (pictured) joined with Clinton Social Services to help distribute food from the Connecticut Food Bank to needy area residents on June 2.

Clinton was recently added to the Connecticut Food Bank Mobile Pantry schedule, and the truck will be in Clinton on the first Monday of every month.

“Connecticut Food Bank provides an additional food resource to residents in Clinton and surrounding towns, and the number of families in attendance at these events is growing,” Sen. Linares said. “More than 80 local households were provided with fresh fruits, produce, dairy products and bread. It was my pleasure to help the terrific staff at Clinton Social Services. They are making a positive difference in people’s lives.”

The Connecticut Food Bank Mobile Pantry makes a monthly stop on the fourth Thursday of every month at Grace Church, 336 Main Street, Old Saybrook. On July 7, Clinton Social Services hosts “Social Services Help Day”, an event which aims to incorporate the Connecticut Food Bank Mobile Pantry with other social service providers in order to help area families in need.
