At the State Capitol on June 5, Sen. Art Linares met with Connecticut real estate-related service providers to discuss the Homes for Heroes program.

Through the program, substantial rebates and discounts are offered to the heroes who serve our nation and its communities every day. Heroes include military personnel, firefighters, police officers, teachers, medical personnel and others.

“The purchase of a home can be daunting, especially for first time homebuyers,” Sen. Linares said. “That’s why Homes for Heroes is such a terrific program. It helps Connecticut’s heroes achieve the American Dream. I think it is a tremendous way to say ‘thank you’ to those who have dedicated their lives to public service, to self-sacrifice.”

Chester-based Attorney Lauren S. Gister was among the professionals who met with Sen. Linares to discuss Homes for Heroes. A retired U.S. Marine, Gister lives in and is Veteran’s Contact for the Town of Chester.

Sen. Linares pledged to help the group promote its cause, and to spread the word about the Homes for Heroes program. On the web: www.homesforheroes.com.
