State and local officials and cyclists gathered on June 11 at The Nehemiah Brainerd House Bed & Breakfast in Haddam to celebrate the launch of the Connecticut Bed & Breakfast/Bike Trail.

The trail combines tours of Connecticut’s countryside with overnight lodging at area inns such as Westbrook Inn B&B and The Riverwind Inn in Deep River.

“The trail is a great way to boost tourism here in Middlesex County,” Sen. Art Linares said. “It raises the profile of our many wonderful and historic inns while highlighting the beauty of the Connecticut River and our natural landscape. The trail will attract both in-state and out-of-state visitors to our region. We want people to experience and enjoy all that our towns have to offer.”

Many historic Connecticut barns are also featured along the CT B&B Bike Trail. On the web: www.ctbandbbiketrail.com .
