Agriculture Day at the Capitol
March 21, 2014Hartford, CT – State Senator Jason Welch (R-Bristol) celebrated Agriculture Day at the Capitol with a visit from the students from the Wamogo School. The students, who take classes in the fields of Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Mechanics, Natural Resources and Plant Sciences come from Harwinton and Terryville.
On Wednesday, March 19, inside the State Capitol farms and businesses related to Agriculture were showcased. The state’s economy and overall quality of life because of farms and business within the industry were front and center. There were food samples and flowers as well as displays showing guests how farmers have diversified their land. These displays help to educate state legislators about the role that agriculture plays in the state and the importance of insuring that it remain a viable entity.
