Sen. Rob Kane (left) on Feb. 26 welcomed Oxford residents Kristi Novin and Kristi’s daughter Ainsley to the State Capitol in Hartford. The Novins were participating in the annual “Girl Scout Day at the Capitol” ceremonies. Ainsley, who is currently a Brownie, spoke with Sen. Kane about policies which can help strengthen Connecticut’s animal abuse laws. According to the Girl Scout Website, “the Girl Scout program can change the way girls see the world and their place in it. Girls learn the importance of personal responsibility, the value of goal-setting, the spirit of teamwork, and the thrill of accomplishment.
