Markley Joins 1st Graders for A Lesson on President’s Day

A Lesson on President’s Day

Hartford, CT – State Senator Joe Markley (R-Southington) recently visited Southington’s Deryonski Elementary School for a President’s Day Lecture. Sen. Markley joined teacher Tracey Gamberdelli’s first grade class and taught students about President Abraham Lincoln. Markley read the children a story, and helped them with a project that talked about the differences facing President Lincoln and President George Washington. The class wrapped up with a math project that used the penny which appropriately has President Lincoln’s likeness on the coin.
