February 21, 2014

Sen. Michael McLachlan, Rep. Rich Smith and Rep. Jan Giegler applauded the news that the State of Connecticut will approve an injection of funding to assist in the New Fairfield Public Library’s renovation.

A total of $751,253 has been placed on the Feb. 28 agenda of the State Bond Commission. The funding will to be put toward construction costs, including energy conservation projects, a new elevator, meeting space and other various repairs.

“This is a substantial commitment from the state – what great news for New Fairfield,” Sen. McLachlan said. “The renovations will make the library more accessible and benefit the community for years to come.”
“I am pleased we could help return these state tax dollars to New Fairfield,” Rep. Smith said. “The library is a focal point of our community, and I am hopeful these investments will benefit residents for generations.”

“I’m pleased the Bond Commission is set to approve funding to help renovate the New Fairfield Library,” Rep. Giegler said. “Investments in resources for our entire community pay dividends well past the initial cost of the project and I’m pleased this project will be one step closer to finished.”
