An Oct. 3 Senior Health and Wellness Fair in Old Saybrook provided area residents with information about programs relating to health, wellness, legal issues, and financial services.

The event, which was hosted by Sen. Art Linares and the Estuary Council of Seniors, brought together dozens of state and local organizations in an effort to help improve seniors’ quality of life. Flu shots were also offered.

“This outreach event was a success and we plan on holding more of them,” Sen. Linares said. “We want seniors to be aware of the resources that are available to them. A big ‘thank you’ to the Estuary Council of Seniors for co-hosting the fair. We were able to help a lot of people today.”

Sen. Linares encouraged area seniors to contact him with questions, comments or ideas at [email protected] or at 800 842 1421.

The Estuary Council of Seniors (www.ecsenior.org) serves adults 50 and over in Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.
