Sen. Linares Honors East Haddam’s Senior Citizens’ Director [East Haddam Today]

For more than 30 years, Joanne Roczniak has been East Haddam’s Senior Citizens’ Director. And Sunday, July 14was her day to be honored for her exemplary service.

In a retirement ceremony, emcee’d by Jo Golec, speaker after speaker praised Joanne’s tenacity and vision.

And lots of laughs were shared.

Her persistence was recalled and celebrated – in the end, Joanne always got want she wanted; she never took “No” for an answer.

After a litany of praises from public officials and other guests, and private, everyone who’d gathered in the packed Senior Center – whose existence is a testament to Joanne’s famous persistence – enjoyed a luncheon prepared by the volunteer committee.

HTNP New would like to add its congratulations and say “Thank you” for a job well done and enjoy your well earned retirement.
