Witkos Talking Gas Tax Hike In Simsbury Monday [Hartford Courant]

SIMSBURY — State Sen. Kevin Witkos will be at a gas station on West Street this afternoon to talk with motorists about an upcoming increase in the gas tax.

Witkos will meet with motorists at the Gulf station on West Street from 4 to 6 p.m., according to a release. He is hoping to get their signatures for an “Axe the Gas Tax” petition.

“Connecticut drivers are already fed up with the gas tax,” Witkos said in a release. “When this tax increase hits on July 1st, families and businesses around our state will see their costs go up. This petition will help send a message to Gov. Malloy that we have had enough of these tax increases. I look forward to seeing you at the Gulf station on Monday.”
