Sen. Linares, Rep. Miller Applaud $$ for Clean H2O in Tylerville

June 17, 2013

State legislators today applauded Gov. Dannel P. Malloy for placing $470,000 on the State Bond Commission’s June 21 meeting agenda to continue financing potable water services to residents of the Tylerville section of Haddam.

The funds will help to complete a Phase II Regional Hydrogeologic Investigation.

Underground pollution has fouled wells in the village, and a number of residents now use bottled water as they await a permanent solution to the problem.

“I have been working very hard to get better water for Tylerville for a long time,” Rep. Phil Miller said. “I am glad that I was able to help secure state funding to help the people of Tylerville continue to receive clean drinking water and I thank the Governor for making this a priority of the bond commission.”

“At a recent town hall meeting I hosted in Haddam, a women told me she has been using bottled water for years and has been struggling to live without clean water,” Sen. Art Linares said. “We all have a mutual goal for Tylerville, and that’s to get a safe and reliable water system. The placement of this item on the bond commission’s agenda will help many people in Tylerville as we move toward that goal. It is much appreciated.”
