The ceremony recognized several young people from the area for their creativity and involvement in arts education.

In an April 26 ceremony at Eliot School in Clinton, Sen. Art Linares and Rep. Tom Vicino presented official state citations to student winners of the Reflections Arts Competition.

The program, organized by the National Parent Teacher Association, encourages young people to create and submit works of art in six areas: literature, visual arts, photography, Dance Choreography, Film/Video and musical composition. Sen. Linares and Rep. Vicino recognized the students for their creativity and involvement in arts education.

Student winners at Eliot, in the Visual Arts category:

First Place – Lauren Shields (7th grade)
Second Place – Brett Martin (7th grade)
Third Place – Gabrielle Bussiere (7th grade)

Student winners at Eliot, in the Literature category:

First Place – McKenzie Blanusa (8th grade)
Second Place – Wyatt Reu (7th grade)

Student winners at The Morgan School, in the Literature category:

First Place – Eli Phelps (Junior)
Second Place – Chad Paradis (Senior)
