In a May 2 ceremony at Enfield Public Library, Sen. John A. Kissel and 360 Federal Credit Union presented Essay Contest Awards to area sixth graders. Students from public and parochial elementary schools in Enfield participated in the contest by submitting a 300-word essay about their favorite place in Connecticut.
“The research conducted by these students was excellent and their writing is top-notch,” Sen. Kissel said. “Some students chose fun tourist destinations like Mystic as their favorite place, while others chose special locations right here in Enfield. We are very proud of all of them, and many thanks to 360 Federal Credit Union for donating the contest prizes. Without their generosity, this event would not have been possible.”
“At 360 Federal Credit Union, we strongly support youth education programs throughout Enfield and north-central Connecticut,” said 360 Federal Credit Union Business Development Officer Carissa Pape. “This essay contest brings area schools, students, teachers and parents together in a collaborative effort which encourages children to research and write. We’re proud to support the contest and we congratulate the winners and runners-up for their very thoughtful efforts.”
