Ellington students visit state Capitol
May 8, 2013Hartford, CT – State Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-35) recently visited with students from Ellington during their field trip to the State Capitol. Students listened while the senator discussed the role of lawmakers in the General Assembly. The Senate Chamber also holds many artifacts. Senator Guglielmo shared with the children the story of the wishing chair. It is the chair the Lt. Governor sits in during session and it’s wood comes from the Charter Oak. It is said that whomever sits in the chair can make a wish. Each student had an opportunity to take a photo and sit in the chair.
