Senator Witkos and Representative Simanski Provide Legislative Update to Barkhamsted Residents

Barkhamsted – State Senator Kevin Witkos (R-8) and State Representative Bill Simanski (R-62) provided a budget and legislative update at the Board of Selectman meeting at Barkhamsted Town Hall on Tuesday, March 26th.
“As your state senator, I appreciate the opportunity to keep you updated about the proposals currently before the General Assembly in Hartford,” said Senator Witkos. “At this time, we are focused on developing the next two-year state budget and taking steps to prevent gun violence. It is important to share your input throughout this process so that we can fully understand the complex issues facing our state. I would like to thank everyone who joined us in Barkhamsted for this very informative event.”
During the meeting, the state legislators discussed a variety of topics about state government with Barkhamsted officials and local residents, including the proposed state budget, Connecticut’s budget deficit and potential increases in spending, the home heating oil tax and measures to prevent gun violence.
