Founded in 1967 as a one-man tool and die shop by Riccardo Puglielli, Promold Plastics is a second generation, privately held company. Since its inception, Promold Plastics has evolved into a contract manufacturer with more than 40,000 square feet of manufacturing space specializing in close tolerance injection molds and molded components. Today, Promold Plastics serves the medical device, electronics, and industrial markets supplying precision injection molds and molded components.
Rick Puglielli started at Promold Plastics in 1990, bringing his degree in mechanical engineering to the company his father founded in 1967. Rick spent nine years learning the business while introducing computer technology and bringing Promold Plastics to ISO 9002 Certification. In 1999, Rick’s father retired and Rick became president of the company. In 2000, Rick was named one of Hartford Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” business leaders.
“Promold Plastics is exactly the type of small business that we want to see grow and thrive here in Middlesex County,” Sen. Linares said. “I appreciate Rick taking me around and introducing me to his employees. I want area businesses to know they have someone representing them in Hartford who is listening to their concerns.”
