(photo) Colchester Student Artist Honored by Sen. Art Linares

Jack Jackter Intermediate School student Claudia Washburn of Colchester (right) was honored by Sen. Art Linares (left) and environmental advocates during an April 26 Arbor Day ceremony at the State Capitol.

Claudia has been named the New London County Winner of the Connecticut Tree Protective Association’s Arbor Day Poster Contest. The contest required students from across Connecticut to submit artwork depicting their favorite tree.

Claudia, who is a student in Ms. Wendy West’s class, was honored during a tree planting event on the north side of the State Capitol lawn.
