Sen. Art Linares on April 30 spoke to an assembly of Haddam-Killingworth High School students about the importance of making healthy choices during the HK Youth and Family Services Healthy Kids/Healthy Communities Forum.

Linares, 24, serves as ranking member of the legislature’s Children’s Committee.

“The conversation was an excellent give-and-take,” Sen. Linares said. “The students asked great questions. We talked about how the choices students make in their teen years can have a major impact on the rest of their lives. We talked about the importance of making responsible decisions and the importance of keeping a positive attitude. I look forward to continuing to work with area students and professionals to implement strategies to promote wellness throughout our communities.”
