Colebrook – State Senator Kevin Witkos (R-8) and State Representative Jay Case (R-63) provided a legislative and budget update to the Colebrook Board of Selectmen at the Town Hall on Wednesday, March 20th.
“As your voice in Hartford, I believe it is essential to keep you informed of everything that is happening at the state legislature,” said Senator Witkos. “From budget negotiations to reducing gun violence, we have certainly had a full agenda today, and it is important to share your input so that we can make informed decisions to benefit our community. I thank everyone who took the time to come out and join us in Colebrook tonight.”
The legislators discussed proposals currently under consideration at the state legislature with Colebrook residents, including the governor’s proposed state budget, Connecticut’s budget deficit and proposed increases in spending, the elimination of the car tax and measures to prevent gun violence.
“The residents of Colebrook who came out to our Town Hall meeting should know they are being well-represented at the State Capitol,” Rep. Case said. “We share their concerns. We also took every issue they raised – the budget, heating oil taxes, gun violence measures – and took it to heart. I’m proud to represent Colebrook and the other towns of the 63rd Assembly District, and our Town Hall meeting proved why.”
