Sen. Art Linares on March 20 met with Lyme resident William Farrell to discuss small business initiatives and ways to promote farming in Connecticut.

Farrell, who is retired, is interested in beginning a new career in diversified farming with a focus on specialty products such as maple syrup.

“It was a pleasure to meet with Mr. Farrell, and I encourage area residents to contact me with comments or questions about state programs which can help you start and grow your business,” Sen. Linares said. “All too often, state government gets in entrepreneurs’ way. I am working here at the Capitol to do just the opposite.”

Sen. Linares, who serves on the legislature’s Commerce Committee, co-founded his own small business at the age of 19.

Sen. Linares represents Chester, Clinton, Colchester, Deep River, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland, and Westbrook. He can be reached at [email protected] or at 800 842 1421.
