Senator Witkos Attends Presentation of $5,000 AT&T Donation to The Arc of the Farmington Valley

Canton – AT&T announced a $5,000 donation to The Arc of the Farmington Valley, Inc./FAVARH for the purpose of providing local high school students with intellectual, physical and developmental disabilities training in technology applications for work force development on Friday, February 1st. State Senator Kevin Witkos was on hand for the announcement.

“It’s important that our students are prepared for the types of technological applications they might encounter in the work force,” stated Stephen Morris, Executive Director of The ARC of the Farmington Valley, Inc./FAVARH. “Thanks to AT&T’s generosity, our students will receive the training they need to enter the work force and live independent and satisfying lives.”

The Arc of the Farmington Valley, Inc./FAVARH is a local chapter of the ARC, the world’s largest community based organization for people with intellectual, physical and developmental disabilities. FAVARH supports more than 350 children, young adults, adults, seniors, and families throughout the Greater Farmington Valley area.

“The Arc of the Farmington Valley plays an essential role by enhancing workforce development in our communities,” said State Senator Kevin Witkos (R-8). “I applaud AT&T for their commitment to this impressive organization that encourages students to achieve greater independence in their daily lives. This donation will help FAVARH continue to provide these important services that help so many throughout the Farmington Valley.”
