Sen. Art Linares updates Essex taxpayers during his Feb. 19 Town Hall Meeting at Essex Library. Linares will address Deep River taxpayers Wednesday night (Feb. 20) at Town Hall.

At the Essex Library on Feb. 19, State Sen. Art Linares spoke to area taxpayers for 90 minutes about the state budget and other public policy issues that are being debated at the State Capitol.

Linares took questions from the 20 taxpayers in attendance and told them he planned to keep them informed during the fast-paced legislative session in Hartford. He also urged audience members to sign up for his State Capitol e-alerts at www.senatorlinares.com.

“I thank the community for coming out on a cold night to ask questions and get up-to-date,” Sen. Linares said. “As the new state senator for our region, my focus is on job growth and responsible state spending. We have got to get our economy out of first gear. That starts with pro-business actions which send a message to the private sector that Connecticut really is open for business. I look forward to future open meetings like this one. Your feedback is very helpful to me, and I bring your ideas with me to Hartford.”

Those who could not attend the meeting may contact Sen. Linares at [email protected] or at 800 842 1421.

Sen. Linares will hold another Town Hall Meeting tonight (Wednesday, Feb. 20) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Deep River Town Hall in the Main Conference Room. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Sen. Linares represents Chester, Clinton, Colchester, Deep River, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland, and Westbrook.
