Sen. Art Linares on Jan 25 listened to state residents who gathered at the State Capitol public hearing to express their thoughts on how to improve school security policies.

The legislative working group Sen. Linares serves on is reviewing ways to improve school security after the Newtown tragedy. The hearing was attended by teachers, public safety officials and mayors and first selectmen from across Connecticut.
Sen. Linares noted that the public can still send testimony electronically to [email protected] . Visit the committee’s website at www.cga.ct.gov/asaferconnecticut. The website includes information on the task force’s membership and public hearings, as well as a link for submitting online testimony.

“Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the families who lost loved ones at Sandy Hook Elementary School,” Sen. Linares said. “My goal as state senator is to do all I can to protect the citizens of this state from another such tragedy.”
