$5.2 million is set to be approved by the state for an infrastructure project in Danbury. State Senator Mike McLachlan says one of the items on the Bond Commission agenda on Monday is funding for construction work on a Route 7 bridge off exit 13 south. The “flyover” bridge leads to Eastbound Interstate 84.
McLachlan says this project will make a key part of our infrastructure as safe and secure as it can possibly be. There are four projects in the $24.6 million bond package being considered. One other project is for rehabilitation of the Metro North railroad bridge over the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan.
State officials says the projects will create or retain 518 construction related jobs.
