Power Restoration Timelines
 
CL&P – Expects substantial restoration to be complete by Monday or Tuesday of next week.
 
United Illuminating – 95% of customers will be back on line Monday November 5th.
 

FEMA Assistance
 
Residents living in Middlesex and New Haven Counties are eligible for FEMA assistance.
 
To register by phone, residents can call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).  The TTY line for people with speech or hearing disabilities is 1-800-462-7585.  The line is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days per week.
 
To register online, applications may be completed at www.disasterassistance.gov.
 
If residents have disaster assistance questions, they may call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362.
 
In the coming days, state officials and FEMA will be conducting damage assessments to determine if additional counties may be eligible for assistance.  Residents and businesses in the non-declared counties (Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland and Windham) should dial 2-1-1 or go online at www.211ct.org to report their damage.
 
Transportation
 
NO FARES FOR CONNECTICUT METRO-NORTH COMMUTERS THIS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
 
Rail Service between Stamford and New York’s Grand Central Terminal to Resume Thursday Morning; Shore Line East Service will also Resume Thursday
 
The Stamford-New York service represents some 52 percent of the daily New Haven Line Service. Metro-North and the Connecticut Department of Transportation are also evaluating some interim express bus options for the east end of the line and the return the entire system – from New Haven to Grand Central – to full service as quickly as possible.
 
Shore Line East commuter rail service, between New Haven and New London, will also resume Thursday morning. In addition, Amtrak will begin operating some limited service between New Haven and Springfield, and between Boston and Washington DC. 
 
Property Tax Extension
 
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Executive Order No. 26 that extends the property tax deadline for those Connecticut residents who pay property taxes on a quarterly basis.
