Senator Guglielmo Statement on Education Reform Bill

Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-Stafford) released the following statement re: SB 24 AN ACT CONCERNING EDUCATIONAL REFORM.

“I’m all for making our education system stronger. However when we receive a 185 page bill with only 90 minutes to review it before we are expected to take a vote – in the dark of night I have a problem with that.

“There are many questionable items in this package such as a study on forced regionalization of small districts. Why would we penalize districts who already streamline their services? And who’s in charge of the study?

“These questions and others will never be answered because the bill passed while you were sleeping.”

The bill passed the Senate 28 to 7. The House takes up the bill today.
