Senator McLachlan Hears from Greater Danbury Taxpayers at Community Meeting
April 18, 2012Senator Michael McLachlan, Rep. Janice Giegler and Rep. Dan Carter provided a State Capitol update to more than 35 taxpayers on April 16 at Danbury City Hall.
The legislators answered questions for 90 minutes about public policies being crafted in Hartford.
McLachlan has been pushing to cap and reduce taxes such as the gas tax. He discussed his opposition to tolls and his efforts to eliminate wasteful state spending.
“In Hartford, we will not stop fighting for greater Danbury taxpayers,” McLachlan said. “We will continue to fight to improve the state’s business climate so that we can grow and retain jobs here in western Connecticut. We will also continue pushing to get the state’s fiscal house in order. Taxes need to be lowered and we need to put an end to all of the excessive spending that goes on at the State Capitol.”
McLachlan said that anyone who was unable to attend the event but would like to offer their thoughts or ask questions can reach him at any time at 800-842-1421 or [email protected].
McLachlan represents New Fairfield, Danbury, Bethel and Sherman.
