State Sen. Jason Welch on Wednesday welcomed to the State Capitol about 10 Plymouth residents who are participating in a class at the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI).

The parents in the PLTI class, led by Parent Leadership Coordinator Christine O’Grady, are learning to become leading advocates for children. For more information, visit ww.cga.ct.gov/coc/plti .

“PLTI teaches parents the skill of civic leadership,” Senator Welch said. “Throughout greater Bristol, we all want the best for our children. Parents become even stronger advocates for their children once they learn how decisions are made within the public policy and budget domains. I have great respect for these parents and for this program. They are making our communities stronger. It was my pleasure to speak to them and to take their questions here at “The People’s House” – our beautiful State Capitol.”

Welch represents Plymouth, Bristol, Plainville and Harwinton.
