State Sen. Jason Welch (R-Bristol) participated in Friday’s “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” ceremony at the Legislative Office Building.

The annual ceremony honors veterans who served during the Vietnam War and features a presentation of colors, singing of the national anthem and remarks from state and federal officials.

Senator Welch spoke of his late father’s service to the country in Vietnam. Welch serves as ranking member of the legislature’s Select Committee on Veterans Affairs. He has served his country in both the United States Coast Guard Reserve and Army National Guard.
