Hartford, CT – Senator Joe Markley (R-Southington) joined hundreds in Hartford on March 23 as part of the National Rally for Religious Freedom. Sen. Markley addressed the crowd from the base of a statue honoring Revolutionary War hero Casimir Pulsaki.

“We are Americans, who meet as free and equal citizens, endowed by our creator with inalienable rights, as the founders of our nation stated,” said Sen. Markley. “Those rights are preserved by two forces: the United States Constitution, and the spirit of liberty that lives within each of us. We must do our part to preserve them both.”

The rally, organized by www.standupforreligiousfreedom.com, aimed to counter increasing and unprecedented attacks on religious freedom at all levels of government. More than 500 people attended the Hartford event.
