Food Collection Tomorrow in Shelton and Seymour

February 10, 2012

Dear Neighbor,

I want to let you know about the annual “Valley Has a Heart” food collection taking place Saturday, February 11th, at three local Stop & Shop Supermarket stores.

Please remember that the critical need for donations continues even after the holidays. I encourage you to donate any available food items tomorrow.

This event will help Spooner House restock its shelves with enough non-perishable food to last at least two months.

The collection will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the following Stop & Shop locations:

898 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton
15 Franklin Street, Seymour
100 Division Street, Ansonia

Donations will also be accepted at Spooner House, located at 30 Todd Road in Shelton, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Volunteers are still needed for the food drives at each location to collect and organize the food. If you would like to volunteer, please call Tony Vellucci at 203-225-0453.

What can you donate?

Food items are needed, including soups, juices, tuna, canned fruits, peanut butter, jelly, rice, crackers, snack items, coffee and tea.

Thank you for considering those who could most use our help.

Sincerely,

Kevin C. Kelly
State Senator – 21st District
