On Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Windsor Locks Town Hall (50 Church Street), State Senator John A. Kissel will meet with mayors and first selectmen from the seven towns of the 7th senatorial district.

The meeting, which starts at 6 p.m. in the Ella Grasso Conference Room, will review the major issues that area leaders wish to see addressed in the Connecticut General Assembly this year. The legislative session starts on Feb 8.

“This pre-legislative session is a great opportunity for me to touch base with our local leaders and to hear their thoughts and comments,” Sen. Kissel said. “I value their input and I take their policy ideas to Hartford. We want to continue to do everything we can to work as a team to improve the quality of life here in north-central Connecticut.”

Sen. Kissel noted that he wants to build upon the momentum created last year by the bipartisan Jobs Bill. Sen. Kissel was successful in including new funding into that bill – an extra $2.2 million over two years – for Asnuntuck Community College’s Manufacturing Technology Center.

“We fought for that funding because we believe in Asnuntuck – this is great news for north-central Connecticut,” Kissel said. “Asnuntuck’s training program meets the needs of businesses who want new employees to be able to hit the ground running. This is a wise investment in Connecticut’s future, and it helps all of our communities.”

Kissel encouraged the public to contact him with their thoughts and ideas at [email protected] or at 800 842 1421.
