New Haven (January 3, 2012) – John R. Quinn, President & CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut (VNA/SCC), recently announced that State Senator Kevin Kelly of Stratford was elected to the Board of Directors for VNA/SCC, a non-profit, community-based home health agency that provides high quality health care services in the home and communities its serves.
“We are honored that Senator Kelly is joining our Board,” Quinn said. “Our agency will benefit from Senator Kelly’s efforts to focus on issues pertaining to Connecticut’s senior citizens as well as issues pertaining to elder care law.”
Senator Kelly serves the 21st Senatorial District, which represents the towns of Monroe, Seymour, Shelton and Stratford. In addition to serving as State Senator, Kelly is owner and Partner in the law firm of Bishop, Jackson & Kelly, LLC, which has offices in Stratford, Milford, and Norwalk. Prior to running for State Senate, Kelly was Stratford’s Town Attorney from 1999 to 2005, and is currently an Assistant Town Attorney. Senator Kelly was a member of the Stratford Aging Commission and was Chairman of the Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging.
Kevin earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Assumption College, and his Master’s degree from Fairfield University. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law and also studied at the Notre Dame Law School in England.
