State Sen. Jason Welch and State Rep. Whit Betts on Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 20) rang the bell to raise money for the Salvation Army in front of the Bristol Wal-Mart.

The Salvation Army provides gifts and food for greater Bristol families who need help making ends meet during the holiday season. Wal-Mart is matching the money raised by the legislators.

“Rep. Betts and I are very grateful to greater Bristol residents for the generosity they showed during our bell ringing event,” Senator Welch said. “These donations will help to brighten the holidays for the most vulnerable residents in our community.”
