At Asnuntuck, Sen. Kissel Attends Rememberance Tree Ceremony [Photo]

The General Federation of Women’s Club of Connecticut and the GFWC Juniorette Earth Angels of Somers unveiled their Remembrance Tree on 11-11-11 at 11 a.m. at Asnuntuck Community College.

The tree has been created to remember the Connecticut fallen who fought in Afghanistan and Iraq and to honor Connecticut Veterans from all eras.

The tree is decorated with red, white and blue ribbons and features hand-cut white painted wooden stars with pictures of military casualties from the state. The tree will be on display at the college for the next two weeks and will then go on tour to the state’s other community colleges as well as the University of Connecticut.
