Veterans should come first
September 26, 2011We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid.
As the former ranking Republican member on the state legislature’s Select Committee on Veterans, I know how important it is to bring you news and updates on issues affecting veterans.
When I learned the state was sponsoring a first of its kind Veterans Expo I had to share the information with you.
The FREE Expo will help veterans connect and network with public and private service providers from across the state.
The Veterans Resource Expo takes place Friday, September 30 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm at Central Connecticut State University’s Alumni Hall Student Center, 1615 Stanley Street, New Britain.
Veterans who attend will learn about opportunities in education, entrepreneurship, business benefits and employment. They will receive information and support from federal and state government agencies as well as the private sector.
Resources include counseling, education/training and financing.
For information or to register, veterans should visit www.Connectveterans.org or contact Veteran Affairs Officer William Tierney at (860) 240-4894.
The event is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Small Business Development Council and the state Department of Veterans Affairs.
We want to help as many veterans as we can, so please share this opportunity with family and friends. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] with comments or questions about veteran’s issues or any other issue.
