State Senator Jason Welch attended Foodshare’s July 25 mobile food distribution at the Plainville Housing Authority.

Mobile Foodshare is an outdoor food distribution initiative for low income individuals. The food choices vary from week to week but usually include bread and several types of fresh produce.

Welch thanked Gloria McAdam, President and CEO of Foodshare, and her Foodshare volunteers for their outreach efforts.

Foodshare is part of a national movement to raise awareness and take action to fight hunger in America. Throughout the month of September, also known as Hunger Action Month, more than 200 food banks, including Foodshare, will be working to engage citizens in the fight against hunger. More information on how to participate, or how to volunteer with Foodshare, can be found at www.foodshare.org or call 860-286-9999.
