State Sen. John A. Kissel will hold public events in Windsor Locks and Somers Thursday, to talk with residents about their tax questions or concerns.

The events are intended to give residents the chance to learn more about the impact that the recently concluded 2011 legislative session will have on them and what new taxes will take effect in July and August.

Kissel, who opposed the tax increases, said that he wanted to make residents aware of how they would be affected.

The first event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Windsor Locks senior center, located at 41 Oak St.

Then, from 4 to 6 p.m., Kissel will meet with residents outside Geissler’s Supermarket on 95 South Road in Somers.

Residents from all towns that Kissel represents — East Granby, Enfield, Somers, Suffield, Windsor Locks and parts of Granby and Windsor — are welcome to attend.
