Republicans Try to Stop Tax Increases

Sen. Markley: “Don’t rush into this error.”

Hartford, CT – Senator Joe Markley (R-16) testified before the Appropriations Committee Thursday on an amendment to stop the Majority party’s state budget proposal to increase taxes by more than $3 billion over the next two years.

Senator Markley believes allowing this tax package will be devastating to the economy and will destroy any chance of future prosperity. Senator Markley urged fellow lawmakers, “Don’t rush into this error.”
