In Plainville, Senator Welch Talks State Budget

March 3, 2011

Speaking to a group of about 40 residents at the Plainville Public Library on Thursday evening (March 3), State Sen. Jason Welch fielded questions for two hours on a range of topics which centered around the state budget. “We have a spending problem in state government,” Welch said, noting that over the past 20 years, state government spending has risen by more than 250 %.

Welch, who is planning future “Town Hall Meetings” in Bristol and Plymouth in the coming weeks, urged residents to call and email the governor and the Democratic leadership in the state legislature to urge them to cut spending.
