October 20, 2010

Wallingford, CT – State Senator Len Fasano (R- 34) and Governor M. Jodi Rell today joined Practical Energy Solutions’ (PES) executives and employees to celebrate the opening of the company’s new energy-efficient, 25,000 square-foot corporate headquarters on Research Parkway in Wallingford. PES is a comprehensive engineering, design and installation firm specializing in lighting control and lighting projects that provide sustainable energy savings. While PES is headquartered in Connecticut, the company recently expanded with offices in California and Virginia.

“We are very fortunate to have Practical Energy Solutions headquartered here in Wallingford,” said Sen. Fasano. “PES is a leader in an emerging industry with the potential to grow and provide good paying jobs to generations of Connecticut residents.”

In the last 18 months, PES has increased its workforce by more than 400% and approximately 40% of its workforce is employed in Connecticut.

“As our state recovers from the recession, we need to do more to encourage businesses like Practical Energy Solutions to create and sustain jobs in Connecticut. Connecticut offers businesses an advantageous location and access to one of the most highly skilled and educated workforces in the country, but state government must also play a role in fostering economic development and job creation by making our tax and regulatory structure more competitive with that of other states,” said Sen. Fasano.
