Sen. Kissel Attends ShopRite Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
June 1, 2010State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) Wednesday, May 26th, attended a ribbon cutting for the new ShopRite supermarket located at State Line Plaza on Freshwater Boulevard. The opening of the grocery store has already created over 200 jobs, 100 of which will go to employees laid of when Shaws went out of business earlier this year.
“This was a great event that signaled a new direction in the local economy,” said Sen. Kissel. “It is great to hear of new businesses opening for once and I was happy to be a part of the celebration. The good folks in Enfield that have worked hard to stimulate economic development, like Mayor Kaupin and Ray Warren, also deserve a great deal of credit. They have worked tirelessly to fill empty storefronts with quality employers and when their hard work pays off, it is a win for everyone. I’d also like to thank the Miller family for their willingness to invest in our community.”
ShopRite, which was open for business as of Wednesday, will be open from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday.
