Senator John McKinney’s Statement on Democrats Proposed “Solution” for Current Deficit

December 14, 2009

“This is déjà vu all over again. At this time last year, Democrat leaders refused to deal proactively with our budget deficit, forcing the state to borrow more than $900 million to cover the shortfall. Instead of learning from their mistake, they are defending the same wait-and-see approach — a strategy destined to have the same disastrous result.”

“The Senate Republican Caucus will show up for work tomorrow ready to address the budget crisis, because that is what the people of Connecticut elected us to do.”
