Let’s lend a hand where we can…

November 25, 2009

While we begin to prepare for the holiday season, it is easy to get swept up in the festivities, forgetting about those less fortunate. This year, more than ever, when our economy is in such turmoil and so many are struggling to make ends meet, it is critical for each of us to lend a hand where we can.

Watch Forum with Len Fasano on YouTubeI am happy to invite you to watch an interview I recently did with two women who are working hard to put an end to hunger in Connecticut. Nancy Carrington is the Executive Director of the Connecticut Food Bank and Cheryl Bedore is President of Master’s Manna in Wallingford. Both women joined me on my show Forum with Len Fasano to talk about the important work their organizations do and how you can pitch in.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to start. Most of you will be celebrating the day surrounded by your family and friends and enjoying a meal with all the trimmings. But many in our state are not so fortunate this year. I ask that you remember those who may be doing without and that you help out if you are able. Whether you volunteer your time, donate food or money, a little will go a long way. In fact, just $5 will provide enough food for 17 meals! I hope you take a moment to tune in to learn more about what you can do.

The show will be airing on North Haven Television and East Haven Television. To see the complete schedules just click on the links below.
